Children’s Program Coordinator
Wahbung Abinoonjiiag Inc. provides domestic violence healing through cultural teachings and a therapeutic process.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Children’s Program Coordinator will work with the Women’s and Youth program coordinators and is responsible for program development, delivery and evaluation of a children’s program for children aged 0-6.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or certification in related field or an acceptable combination of education and work experience
- Experience working with Aboriginal children, youth, women and families who have been victims of family violence
- Experience in program facilitation and coordination
- Previous experience with family assessments and counseling skills in the area of family violence
- Experience working with children who have been traumatized
- Knowledge of Aboriginal history, culture and traditional teachings
- Knowledge of attachment in children and child development
- Knowledge and experience working with the stages of change Model
- Crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills
- Suicide intervention skills
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is an asset
Preference will be given to individuals that self-identify as Aboriginal, First Nations, Métis, or Inuit.
